Smart kitchen appliance on a counter beside fresh vegetables

A Thermomix earns its place when it makes nourishing meals quicker and more consistent. These five ideas focus on fibre, protein and plants, and each one can be doubled and stored.

1. Lentil and vegetable soup

Blitz onion, carrot, celery and garlic, then cook with red lentils and stock. Lentils add protein and fibre in one step. Portion and freeze.

2. Overnight style porridge

Cook oats with milk, then stir through chia seeds and grated apple. Top with nuts. It is a steady, fibre rich breakfast and keeps for a few days.

3. Hidden vegetable pasta sauce

Chop peppers, courgette and tomatoes with garlic and herbs, and cook down. Use it with wholegrain pasta and add beans or lean mince for protein.

4. Steamed fish with vegetables

Use the steaming basket for fish fillets while vegetables cook in the bowl. It is one appliance and a short clear up. Oily fish like salmon adds omega 3.

5. Hummus and bean dips

Blend chickpeas or white beans with lemon, garlic and olive oil. Serve with raw vegetables for a quick, high fibre snack.

Keep structure in mind
